The camp is open to all levels, we will have coaches to work with you from beginner to elite. All you need to do is RSVP ‘yes’ to our event on Facebook. Just click here to add yourself first.

We are still in closed season for the competitive team but we are welcoming applications for the waiting list from this month. We may open for mid-season tryouts in March 2010 so if you are currently thinking of trying out please contact us for an application form at cheerleadingrocks@googlemail.com

Squad news:

The team are training hard for the competitive season and will open the season with a Level 3 routine. Aiming to compete midseason with a Level 4 routine. Last year was one of the most successful for the squad in it’s six year history but everyone is committed to making 2009/10 the year of the Rocket!

Our All Girl stunt squad are currently in training for Future Cheer’s London regionals this December and the main squad are competing for the first time this season in February.

The Coaching Team has undergone some big changes for this season. Rosie Meckiff goes from Co-Coach to Head Coach. Rosie, who was Acting Head Coach towards the end of last season, has been a cheerleader for almost all of her adult life, from university to all star. She brings a determination to have fun as well as train hard to the mix and we’re really excited that she has accepted the position.

Assisting Rosie will be Chantelle Gough who is also a former university cheerleader. Chantelle helped the Rockets gain their first National Championship title last season season as 1/5th of ‘The Rockette’s’ stunt group.

With the appointment of these two new coaches, Emma ‘Rocket’ Chandler announced that will be taking up the position of Program Director after six years at the front of the room. This natural progression will enable all our coaches to progress in their training as well as the squad receiving a more focused and intensive training program.

In addition these changes Natasha Warner continues as Gymnastics Coach and Tracy Hart was named as Dance Captain. The team also welcome back Amanda Davidson from Unity as a guest coach.

And with that, there’s only one thing left to say.

Bring It On.

London Cheer and Dance Showcase – London Cheerleading Academy, Excel

Following on from the success at Future Cheer we were honoured to be the guests of Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders this weekend for the London Cheer and Dance Showcase at the Olympic venue Excel. AEC are the founders of the London Cheerleading Academy where the Rockets have trained once a month since we started out. We owe much of our success to the coaching and mentoring of the staff there and were really excited to take part in the showcase.

London Rockets at Excel

Over 500 cheerleaders attended and performed including the Norbury Manor Jets, the ‘little sister’ team to the London Rockets based at Norbury Manor Business Academy in Croydon. The Jets have been coached by London Rockets coaches since they began cheering just a year ago and we were so proud to see them take home Silver this weekend. Go Jets!

The Rockets performed a small version of their competition routine – with just half the squad and still took home Gold despite that. Go Rockets!

The Coaching Team regret that we will not be taking on any more new members until September 2009 when we will have Level 3 tryouts. If you would like to be added to that list please email cheerleadingrocks@googlemail.com

We will have some open sessions (when you can attend with no previous experience) throughout the summer – to keep informed about this and the other squad news make sure you add us on Facebook:
